What is Restorative Rochester?
Restorative Rochester is a voluntary association of organizations and individuals dedicated to the creation of a restorative community in and around Rochester NY.
We will accomplish this through public education and grassroots organizing to support the creation and steady growth of restorative systems in courts, schools, neighborhoods and other places in the community.
We look forward to the day when the human, spiritual and financial resources that are lost in the current retributive justice system are available to nourish life and vitality throughout our community and beyond.
Member organizations include Partners in Restorative Initiatives, Center for Dispute Settlement, Step by Step, and the MK Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence.
Co-sponsors of Restorative Rochester week include the University of Rochester, RIT, the College at Brockport, the Center for Youth, the City of Rochester, American Baptist Churches of the Rochester-Genesee Region and Rochester Area Mennonite Fellowship.
